What is a Public Adjuster?
A Public Adjuster is an insurance claims adjuster who is an advocate for the policyholder in evaluating, negotiating and settling an insurance claim. Public Adjusters scope the damage and prepare estimates, as well as negotiate the reimbursement of the loss for the insured. A Public Adjuster is licensed by the State of Florida Department of Financial Services and is the only type of claims adjuster who can legally represent the rights of the policyholder throughout the insurance claims process. Many insurance companies are in the business to make money, and consequently pay the insured as little on a claim as possible. Public Adjusters assist the insured whose property or business has been damaged or suffered a loss in receiving the settlement they are entitled. The Public Adjuster works specifically for the policyholder and NOT the insurance company.
The insurance company will send an inside adjuster or an independent adjuster who employed by and is paid for by the insurance company to save the insurance company as much money as possible.
There are three types of insurance adjusters:
INSURANCE STAFF ADJUSTER: Is an employee of the insurance company, who is paid directly by the insurance company, and at times promoted, based upon how much money they are able to save the insurance company.
INDEPENDENT ADJUSTER: Is an independent contractor who works for the insurance industry and represents the insurance company’s interest, not the insured! The independent adjuster is also paid directly by the insurance company and is at times contracted based upon their reputation for saving the insurance industry money.
PUBLIC ADJUSTER: Is basically a private adjuster hired by the policyholder on a contingency basis, who fights for the policyholder’s rights and interests. The Public Adjuster advocates on insured’s behalf to make the insured whole again.
WE ARE PUBLIC ADJUSTERS AND OUR GOAL IS TO ACHIEVE A FINAL SETTLEMENT THAT IS ACCURATE AND FAIR FOR YOU!
